a year after his last outing on the label, gunnar haslam is back on delsin with four more tracks of idiosyncratic techno. opening up this ep with the title track, haslam cooks up a spangled brew of erratic synths and spinning hi hats and ties them together with a heavy rubber kick drum. followed by sarsi which is then completely different, its a beatless and emotionally forlorn cut that still manages to take you somewhere special. deep dancefloor business taking over on the b-side. scurrying alien sounds closed by a frenzied techno trip. each track here is different from the last, and each track here is a refreshing proposition from one of the most interesting guys around.

the last few years has seen parris make a name for himself across a number of scenes, to the extent he is just as likely to be found spinning records for butterz as he is putting records out on berceuse heroique. here at idle hands we first touched base with parris many moons ago when he bought copies of the first release on his soundman chronicles label into our shop. as it is one of our favourite labels we were intrigued to hear what he would come up with as producer himself. needless to say we were impressed. presented here are two tracks that perfectly reflect his sound and our own a nod to techno here, a weighty bass line there, a love of reverb everywhere and all with a view to being played in dark rooms late at night. the 12 inch of burr and blue is idle hands last release of 2015 and we think it rounds off nicely what has been a great year for the label.

french producer juliano delivers the next ep, entitled * this must be...*, on his own imprint * that place records*. fourth in line on the label, following on from releases from visitors for reworks, mzkbx (aka sacha mambo) and love comedy, the now berlin-based artist gifts his very first ep to the collection. as a dj, juliano has spent the last 13 years honing his craft - first cutting his teeth holding down a residency at l ambassade, and then going on to play all over france and throughout europe. over a decade of digging and spinning has led juliano to develop a refined palette and a knack for finding tunes that make the dance floor bounce. strongly influenced by us house, * panaugust* is a real dance floor killer with its never ending synth. the more emotional * anthem for a friend* is a real tribute, drawing inspiration from chicago and detroit such as the real mess with its special rhythm & blues vibe. finally, cupid mess brings a touch of japanese mood, evoking images of an early-morning rising sun thanks to the classic juno6 sound. julianos ethos is that music should stay fun - preferring to keep things simple, but always real. watch out for this one.

:-crimini- is a new independent label born from the experience of some members of the mighty kitchentstudio3, based in bologna italy. the first release contains on the first side three track by nas1 duo. the young duo work at the kitchenstudio3 since 2011, where they produced a lot of good stuff, including a track featuring kyle hall (released by wild oats music), their debut ep on bosconi records, two tracks released by nick anthony simoncino s hotmix records, and many other cool works. on the other side there is a power track, spinning at 45 tmp, produced by the mysterious grienkho, appeared on pushmaster records and austerity, and kosmik, legendary record collector from south of italy.

the mighty geena is back on antinote with a new ep filled with deepest psychedelic goodness and spaced surprises. comes housed in a glorious printed sleeve! tip! side a starts with -tone loc- a heavy geenafied future classic, complete with signature celestial pan pipes and a deeper than deep bassline, together building in intensity with muted distant vocals adding to the sweet heady confusion. the next track -minus jam- is on a similar path of ecstatic disorientation, with spinning delayed glass toms supervised by the darkest dictatorial bass line confirming geena is a master of light and dark. side 2 continues with -box of exotica- where we are sent to a dreamy post blade runner musical world of traditional and futuristic collision augmented with beautiful and equally dark japanese stick music vocals. the last track -green resident- also walks the cosmic path found throughout this gorgeous ep, softer at first than the others, but the silky darkness soon seeps in bringing cosmic order to geenaland.

silas moldenhawer and jonas kenton, both children of the early 80s, grew up alongside each other in the tiny big city of copenhagen. in their teenage years they discovered electronic music and this led them to start spinning records and producing tracks together. years later they met two other talented musicians and formed well-establish danish indie-electro outfit when saints go machine, but still kept on building kenton slash demon as a separate project.
